Established by a group of parents in 2001, the Association for German Education in Calgary (AGEC) promotes the German language and the culture of German speaking countries in Calgary. AGEC is a registered charity that offers project funding for groups and initiatives that support these goals using funds raised by our volunteers and through donations from individuals and business. AGEC was also a driving force behind the establishment in 2002 of Calgary's only German Bilingual Program, based at Bowcroft Elementary School in the northwest of the city.

In the long term, we would like to see that people interested in acquiring German as a first or strong second language have the opportunity to do so in Calgary at all stages in their life. We would also like to see our website develop into a comprehensive resource for schools and interested people of all ages
