AGEC - Association for German Education in Calgary


The Association for German Education in Calgary (AGEC) supports, promotes and integrates quality German language programs and cultural activities in Calgary.

As a charitable organization with more than 10 years in operation, AGEC supports a variety of educational programs ranging from playgroups for toddlers and the German bilingual program at Bowcroft School to a scholarship fund at the University of Calgary.

You can also participate in AGEC’s cultural events such as the St Martin Lantern Parade and Calgary’s family-friendly Octoberfest.

Celebrate German culture with us on Oct 3 - German Unity Day. The program will feature a lecture on Germany’s post-unification drive towards becoming a country of immigration, as well as a film screening and reception.

Thomas Meinecke German Pop Literature in Focus - Reading with Thomas Meinecke Thomas Meinecke is one of the most influential authors in German pop literature since the 1980s. He will be making his inaugural visit to Calgary and read from his works in English translation.
